Kids Therapy (Age 7+)
Helping Kids Thrive Through Creativity & Connection
At Balanced Life Movement, we support children age 7 and up through playful, creative, and evidence-based therapy. Our sessions blend play therapy, creative arts therapy, and movement-based approaches to help kids process emotions, build confidence, and improve emotional regulation.
We specialize in helping kids with:
Anxiety, worries, and fears
ADHD and challenges with focus
Mood swings and big emotions
Grief and loss
Social skills and behavior challenges
Why Creative Arts Therapy Works So Well for Kids
Children often communicate best through play, movement, and creative expression rather than words alone. Creative Arts Therapy allows kids to express what they feel in a way that feels natural and safe.
Research shows that art, music, and movement:
Activate both sides of the brain, improving emotional processing and problem-solving
Reduce stress hormones and help regulate the nervous system
Build confidence and self-awareness, empowering kids to understand their feelings
Provide a safe outlet for anger, grief, and anxiety without needing to “explain” everything verbally
This whole-brain, body-centered approach helps children develop tools they can use in everyday life — at school, at home, and with friends.
What Therapy Looks Like
Sessions are engaging, interactive, and designed for each child’s unique needs. We may use:
Games and creative activities to build emotional skills
Art and storytelling to process difficult feelings
Movement and mindfulness to regulate energy and stress
Parent collaboration to support your child’s growth at home
Our goal is to create a safe, supportive space where children can express themselves freely, develop coping skills, and feel understood.
