3 week Summer series
If you experience chronic stress and anxiety but yearn to feel grounded and calm in your body, this series is for you. Throughout August, you will be guided by our team of Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapists.
Develop more awareness of your body and its sensations:
Less stress
Reduce anxiety
Call upon your emotional resources
Grounding for safety in your body
Learn how to express yourself in new ways through the mind-body connection:
Movement, including acting out of physical feelings through dance
Tools to calm oneself (nervous system regulation)

WEEK 1: Aug. 10th 6 PM EST
Opening into Movement
Led by Rebecca Love, LCAT, BC-DMT
Learn somatic practices such as Dance/Movement Therapy, breath work, and guided-meditation to assist in decreased stress levels. Becky will guide you through practices you can use in your everyday life that help with regulation and grounding.
What you will learn:
*A breathing practice to shift into the window of tolerance
*Basic DMT interventions that can be used on your own
*How to attune and ground with a body scan
WEEK 2: Aug. 24th 6 pm EST
Present with Self through Authentic Movement
Led by Joy Ruben-Welts, BC-DMT, LCAT
Anxiety is often fueled by the ways we judge, fear, or avoid our experience. Authentic movement is a gateway to becoming present with ourselves in an embodied and compassionate way. When we have this presence, anxious feelings no longer control our identity or decisions. Instead, we root into the grace of self-trust.
What you will learn:
• Interoceptive (embodied) awareness
• How to self-validate and improve self-esteem
• Increased relational trust
WEEK 3: Aug. 31st 6 pm EST
Dance of Freedom
Led by Jennifer Giuglianotti, LCAT, BC-DMT
Dance/Movement Therapist, Jennifer, will guide us in exploring how to find safety and confidence in our bodies' capabilities:
Through gentle, embodied warm-ups and techniques, you will feel supported in expressing your emotions and imagination through movement. Here, dance helps you express how without words yet it can tell a story you want to share.
Our focus is emotional and physical freedom. Freedom from fear, anxiety, and insecurity: Leaping into confidence and passion for life!
What you will learn:
Embodied warm-up (listening to your body's cues) you can do every day
Dance/Movement Therapy for stress and anxiety
Tools for regulating your nervous system to relieve anxiety
These workshops are therapeutic in nature but are not meant to serve as therapy. These workshops will be limited to a smaller group size to allow each participant to feel supported. The workshop series is live and may be recorded for educational purposes. There will be no refunds for missed workshops in this series. Workshops are offered at a reduced fee to make them accessible to as many folks as possible while still paying our therapists a thriving wage.
